It was in Louisa that our competitive spirit was born, and this was the first time we ever sold out of food. Definitely wasn’t the last. BBQ can be a tricky business when it comes to cook quantities due to the amount of time necessary to effectively smoke meats.
Most of you are aware that Dorky Porky BBQ is a family-operated business spearheaded by the Pitmaster Dan (AKA Dorky), and his wife, Lisa (AKA Mrs. Dorky). The two strapping young lads seen most days at our storefront are their two youngest sons, Cliff and Nate.
Pictured underneath the canopy in this photo is their eldest son, Danny, and his wife, Liz, who call Louisa home. While not a full-time employee of DPBBQ, Danny is the mastermind behind our new pineapple BBQ sauce, which has proven to be a unique addition to our growing palette of flavors.
